Affirming God Within

16 June 2008

At last we awaken to the realization that the supreme being is not beyond us, but alive and well at our very core. Our personal selves, local and temporary, are actually vehicles for the expression of one universal and eternal Self.

Most of us have felt small and limited in our lives; but we experienced this only by disavowing the divine Self at the centre of who we are. We stripped ourselves of that unlimited power, then wondered why we always had to struggle to survive and fend off external threats. We formed goals and opinions, alliances and enmities, and watched carefully for the outcomes we wanted and the outcomes we most feared. We lived as if we were merely players and spectators in the game of Creation, and not its ever-present subject.

But now those days are done! Today we are as free and happy as we allow ourselves to be. No one — except you — has the power to make you afraid, alienated, sick or impoverished. And no one — except you — can stop you from reclaiming the true Self at your centre. Indeed, together we have embarked on a great collective migration: from denial to affirmation of life's truth. We are not merely what is created. We are also the Creator.

We are God within.
